The Croghan community came together in an extraordinary display of generosity and teamwork for the benefit dinner on Feb. 12 in memory of Silas Moser at The Red Rooster. What started as a hope to serve around 200 meals turned into something incredible— 451 pre-orders were received, and The Red Rooster served approximately 587 meals! The outpouring of support didn’t stop there—290 lotto chances were sold, and just shy of $18,000 was raised. In the days leading up to the event, volunteers peeled potatoes and carrots while others baked and donated an abundance of desserts. The generosity of local businesses was overwhelming, with The Brick Oven donating potatoes, Vinny’s Pizzeria providing takeout boxes, and The Four Sisters not only donating but organizing the lotto board. Everyone involved—from those who prepared food to the all-volunteer crew that ran the event—played a vital role in making the night a resounding success. This event was a testament to the heart and unity of Croghan, proving that when a community comes together, they can accomplish something remarkable.
