Overview:
Trailside North Country is excited to host a monthly Instagram photo contest. One lucky winner will be selected each month to receive a $25 gift card from a local small business. The competition is open to photographers residing in the North Country of New York. Each month will have a specific theme; participants can submit up to three photographs per month based on that theme. The winner will be chosen based on creativity, composition, and how well the photos align with the theme.

Eligibility:

  1. Geographic Requirement: Participants must have a valid residential address within the North Country of New York. This includes:
    • Lewis County
    • Jefferson County
    • St. Lawrence County
    • Herkimer County
    • Oneida County
    • Oswego County
  2. Instagram Account: Photographers must have an Instagram account to participate in the contest.
  3. Following Trailside North Country: To be eligible, participants must follow the official Trailside North Country Instagram page: @TrailsideNorthCountry.

Contest Rules:

  1. Photo Submissions:
    • Each photographer can submit up to three (3) photographs per month.
    • Submissions must align with the monthly theme, which will be announced on the Trailside North Country Instagram page at the start of each month.
  2. How to Enter:
    • To enter, participants must post their photo(s) on Instagram with the following:
      • Hashtags: Use the hashtag #TrailsidePhotoContest in the caption of the post.
      • Tagging: Tag @TrailsideNorthCountry in the photo.
      • Caption: Include a short caption about the photo and how it fits the month’s theme (optional but encouraged).
  3. Image Ownership & Usage Rights:
    By entering the contest, participants grant Trailside North Country the full rights to use, share, and post their images across Trailside North Country’s social media platforms, website, and promotional materials.
    • This includes permission for Trailside North Country to repost submitted images with proper credit to the photographer.
    • Photographers will retain the copyright to their photos. Still, by entering the contest, they permit these images to be used for marketing and promotional purposes related to the contest or Trailside North Country.
  4. Image Criteria:
    • Submissions must be original work and not infringe on any third-party copyrights.
    • Images must be appropriate for all audiences (no nudity, graphic content, or offensive imagery).
    • Photos can be edited, but the final image must represent the photographer’s work.

Monthly Themes:

  • A specific theme will be announced each month on the Trailside North Country Instagram page.
  • The theme could include nature, landscapes, wildlife, seasonal changes, local landmarks, or community life.
  • Only images related to the current month’s theme will be considered eligible for the contest.

Judging & Selection:

  1. Judging Criteria:
    Submissions will be judged based on:
    • Creativity
    • Composition & Technical Skill
    • Relevance to the theme
    • Overall visual impact
  2. Winner Selection:
    • One winner will be selected at the end of each month and announced on the Trailside North Country Instagram page.
    • The winner will receive a $25 gift card, which will be sent to them via mail.

Prizes:

  • Monthly Prize: One winner per month will receive a $25 gift card.
    • The gift card can be used at various local retailers or businesses, as determined by Trailside North Country.
    • The winner must respond to the prize notification within 7 days to claim their prize. If the prize is unclaimed, an alternate winner may be awarded it.

Additional Terms & Conditions:

  1. Entry Deadline:
    All entries must be posted by 11:59 PM on the last day of the month. Entries posted after the deadline will not be considered.
  2. Publicity:
    By participating in the contest, participants agree to allow Trailside North Country to use their name, Instagram handle, and photo(s) for promotional purposes in connection with the contest and other marketing materials without additional compensation.
  3. Disqualification:
    Trailside North Country reserves the right to disqualify any entries that:
    • Do not follow the rules and regulations.
    • Infringe on copyright or intellectual property rights.
    • Contain inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content.
  4. Contest Modifications or Cancellations:
    Trailside North Country reserves the right to modify or cancel the contest without prior notice for any reason, including technical issues or unforeseen circumstances.
  5. No Purchase Necessary:
    No purchase is required to enter the contest, which is open to all eligible participants as defined above.
